According to LEADERSHIP WEEKEND,A suspected rapist and kidnapper has been spotted by one of his victims in the premises of a new generation bank on Douglas Road, Owerri, Imo State.

Eyewitness account revealed to LEADERSHIP WEEKEND that as soon as the woman identified her alleged abductor, she made straight for him as astonished customers in the bank looked on in utter surprise.

LEADERSHIP WEEKEND further gathered that with the help of the security operatives in the bank, the man was held until some military men on patrol in Owerri got to the bank.
The presence of the soldiers as the witness further revealed made the woman, who is said to be in her mid-thirties open up, revealing how she was kidnapped and raped by a gang led by the suspect.

The woman was said to have identified the man as the particular person, who raped her twice a day for the period of one week that she was held captive. When the woman was asked how she knew the man was among the gang she claimed abused her, she was said to have told the crowd at the bank of a tattoo on the neck and lower waist of the man.

Subsequent upon her identification, which proved positive about the suspect, the man was said to have been bundled away from the bank along with the woman, who claimed that besides her being sexually abused by the man, her family equally paid a N10 million ransom.

Before the man was taken away from the bank, it was further gathered that the man’s bank account had about N75 million. The state Police Public Relations officer, Vitalis Onugu, when contacted said he was yet to be briefed on the matter.

MY THOUGHTS:

I salute the courage of this woman who not bothering about any form of stigmatization that might have followed.  We all know that most times than not, most women who are raped remain mute about it for the fear of stigmatization which springs forth even from some family members.

I want to use this medium to challenge all and sundry to have a second thought about stigmatizing rape victims. Stigmatization breeds a level of pain that even surpasses that of the assault itself. Life does not always give us what we bargain for. Like the four youngsters of Uniport who were brutally murdered by the Aluu Community, these guys never envisaged that their mundane walk will be truncated in such a barbaric manner.

We owe it as responsibility to help rape victims to find solace once again. If as a man who can’t marry a lady who had once been raped, you probably need an upgrade in your level of  understanding. God could have sent you into that bleeding heart to bring about wholeness and restoration. In the arms of a real man, an assaulted woman should find peace and warmth such as would make her forget the pain of the past.

To the raped, I challenge you once again, take a cue from the woman in our story. That’s some real strength!! Don’t die gasping for breath beneath the pain of that sexual assault. Start by finding a trusted friend or counselor to discuss with.

STOP STIGMATIZING SEXUALLY ASSAULTED PEOPLE!!!

For a Sane Africa,

TeeKay

We started a new series “Unmasking Pornography”yesterday. It’s gonna be a long walk. We thought to bring you some live news centered around the subject: CHILD PORNOGRAPHY!
A video of an 11 year old girl sexually molesting a four year old boy, in Iyara Warri, Delta state in Nigeria has gone viral.

The video is very explicit,as the two minors did almost everything adults do during sexual act. It happened two weeks ago in Iyara and the video has been uploaded online and has had high number of views already.

One can only imagine how child pornography has been on the increase recently. Child pornography is among the fastest growing criminal segments on the Internet.

Producers of child pornography try to avoid prosecution by distributing their material across national borders, though this issue is increasingly being addressed with regular arrests of suspects from a number of countries occurring over the last few years. Parents are hereby implored to monitor their wards closely.

Sexual molestation is real and it’s happening everywhere. BE AT ALERT!!

Don’t forget to drop your comments and reactions below. Thank you

In the days we live in it seems erection is now giving many men direction! What makes a man rape his own daughter? Read this:

“A 53-year-old trader, Nzewi Donatus is currently facing a two-count charge at the Ojo Magistrate court, Lagos, for having canal knowledge of his daughter, Oluchi Nzewi , 18, without her consent which is an offense under section 258 of the criminal laws of Lagos state .

He is also being charged for threatening to kill one Ngozi Emeka, for reporting him to the police which is punishable under section 56 of the criminal laws of Lagos state  Nigeria.

Donatus, a tenant at No. 11, Akoberu street by Cele bustop,  Ojo was reported to the police by Ngozi Emeka who is a friend to the deceased wife of Donatus after he, (Donatus) chased his daughter out of the house because she accused him of having sex with her.

Oluchi, who appeared before the court narrated her shocking side of the story.   She alleged that the father has been having canal knowledge of her for five years after the death of her mother.

“My father has been having sex with me whenever I am asleep and there is this drink he always forced me to drink before I sleep and when I wake up, I do noticed sperm all over my body.   When I asked him, he will deny it and warn me never to ask him such question.

On the 15th day of August when I woke up, I noticed such on my body again and this time, I was bold enough to ask him but when I did, he beat me up and sent me out of the house.   So, I went to one Ngozi for shelter and when I narrated my pains to her, she quickly ran to the police to file a report,” she lamented.

Crime Guard gathered from a reliable source that ever since his wife died, the suspect has been maltreating his daughter by even sitting with her at a bar taking alcoholic drinks.

He also allegedly chases away any male friend that comes visiting his daughter.  Some people who never knew his reasons for doing such thought he was preventing them from the corrupt society little did they  know that he was doing so for his own selfish interest.

Crime Guard also learnt that when he was invited to the police station, he never showed any remorse but instead he was disturbing and causing nuisance at the station. He also allegedly threatened to kill Ngozi Emeka for reporting “a case that did not concern her” to the police.

Another witness who pleaded anonymity also disclosed that he saw Donatus beating his daughter but when he tried interfering, he got the worst insult of his life. “When I heard Oluchi screaming for help, I ran to see if I could talk to his father.   But when I tried doing so, he gave me the worst insult of my life accusing me of having a secret affair with his daughter.   I got pissed off and had to leave so as to mind my business”.

When  the charges were read to him by the prosecutor, Supol Eze, he pleaded not guilty but the presiding Magistrate, Mrs  J.O.E Akhanamaya, rejected his bail and he was remanded  at kirikiri prison custody for further hearing of his case.”
